Dr. Akash Kumar Rose

Doc, as he is lovingly and respectfully addressed by everyone who comes across him, is a mentor and inspiration for us at Lemondust Studios. With a lineage of extremely talented paternal and maternal family, doc was a prodigy in all fields they mastered. His paternal grandfather, the principal of the International school in Burma for Literature and his father who was a lecturer in English Literature inspired him to become a literary connoisseur and author and editor for prestigious publishers. His father was also the Joint secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture (central govt) and financial advisor to Indian railways. His beloved grandmother, who was a talented western classical violinist, recognised his love for music early on and taught him to play the violin from the young age of 4 leading to his accomplishments in the field of music. His mother, Tera Bai Rose, contributed to his love for art. A published commercial artist, she was commissioned by elite corporates to create pieces of art, inspiring Doc to follow in her footsteps in the field of design. His grandfather, Dr. Devanayagam, was a well known and beloved doctor who led him to the world of medicine encouraging him to ace this field as well. 
 

Key Professional Achievements:

• Appointed to the Development Team, Committee on Science and Technology in Developing Countries - Attached to IIT Chennai. Appointed by the then Director, Dr. Radhakrishna.

• Consultant Scientist and Technologist to Govt. Of India Projects, Ministry of Defence under Brigadier B.S Kataria (Later, Major General BS Kataria)

• Technology Consultant to Laser digitising plant, Vizag Steel plant and several Major Corporates

• Design, Patented and Manufactured acoustic systems for professional use

• Design and Patented robotic access control systems and several other products in the realm of acoustics, signal processing and automation 

• The above involvement in cross-platform interdisciplinary Product design led to his appointment for 7 yrs as external examiner to NID, Ahmedabad Campus for Graduates and PostGraduates (including M.Des)

• Semi Professional western classical violinist with several prizes in All India Inter-Collegiate Competitions, also taught Music theory and expression. Inspired by the great Indian and Western classical and semi classical composers and performers like Shankar Jaikishan, Pandit Ravi Shankar, Sir  Yehudi Menuhin and composers such as Bethoven and Tchaikovsky.

• As a professional photographer and teacher he was the author of the Mini Book Series published by Better Photography in 6 parts, "The Art of Macro Photography". 

• As Talent Scout/Roving Editor for Orient Longman Ltd. He was instrumental in the creation of the Textbook of Medicine by the company (Accredited by the authors in the Foreword of the book) 

• Professor of Design at an Internationally Affiliated College
